Between 1893 and 1916, Nantclwyd y Dre was the rectory for Llanfwrog, a small parish about one mile away. The Reverend Thomas Prichard was the rector of this church between 1907 and 1916. The years he spent at Nantclwyd y Dre are depicted in the "Rector's Study" at the house.
