Lady Eleanor Butler’s shoes, c.1780
Description
The shoes are made out of white kid leather and silk and are round toed with a Louis heel. They are delicately embroidered using sequins, threads and silk braid. They are currently displayed in the exhibition room at Plas Newydd. The Ladies accrued considerable bills for their shoes which may have been partly due to their love of long walks in the North Wales countryside.
