Valle Crucis Abbey as it appears today
Description
This Cistercian monastery was built in 1201, but has fallen into ruins since the 16th Century. The Ladies walked to the ruins of the Abbey during their first visit to Llangollen in May 1778 and Sarah Ponsonby described it in her diary as a "beautiful situation".
