Painting of the font at Plas Newydd, c.1835

Description

Painted by Lady Delamere. The font originally belonged to Valle Crucis Abbey but was acquired by the Ladies for their garden in 1782. They placed it underneath a small spring of water in the Grotto, in the grounds of Plas Newydd, where it remains today.
