This photo belongs to Brian Gilvear from Llantwit Major who was a member of the Llantwit Major Carnival committee for 10 years. Brian was therefore involved in the annual carnival queen competition.
Every year, 10 bus loads of people would travel from Llantwit Major to Barry for the event at the Bindall's Ballroom.
Taken in the late 1960s, the photograph shows the winner (seated) and runners up after the results have been announced.
