The Michel Swenden

Description

In early February, 1957, the Dutch steamer ‘Michel Swenden’ was driven ashore colliding with the piles alongside the North Pier, with successive tides pushing the small ship towards the Promenade. There were no casualties but several attempts were needed to re-float her.
