Description

Local Industrialist, Sir Arthur Pendarves Vivian (1834-1926) of Glanavon House, Taibach; Resident Manager of the Taibach Copper Works. A KCB and former MP. In 1883 he was in conflict with Aberavon Corporation when he attempted to prevent public access to the beach road. He gave land at Sandfields for a hospital, St Paul’s Church and Vivian Park.
