Description

War damaged Castle Bailey Street looking west. Fire fighters can be seen damping down the smouldering remains of the Ben Evans store
Personal Memories:
Devastation lasted well into the days and weeks and months following.
I remember having to walk past the firemen - on the way to catch the bus, to get away from Swansea. I was evacuated to Bryncoch after that.
I was only four years old at the time. All I remember is the fear and dread as the German bombers droned over head. (K.M Richards)
