Description

Alun Richards (1929-2004) was a short story writer, novelist and playwright. Born in Pontypridd, he was educated at the Monmouthshire Training College, Caerleon, and the University College of Swansea. Richards worked as a probation officer, teacher, Royal Navy seaman, and as a university adult-education lecturer. He was awarded a Japanese Foundation Fellowship in 1984, and the following year an Honorary Fellowship at the University College of Swansea. Lewis published six novels, two short story collections, a volume of his stage-plays, a study of Welsh rugby and an autobiography. He also edited a number of short story anthologies.
