The description of his rank is totally incorrect. Phillips was actually the Chief Constable of Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Police......and not as described ....a 'Chief Inspector'.

Thank you for your comment. These photographs were from Sergeant Percy Botting's personal scrap book which was donated by one of his family. All of the information quoted is from Sgt Botting's own comments in the book which I believe were correct at the time.
