Here we see a slate footbridge crossing the outfall of the Cwmorthin reservoir leading on to the track to Conglog and the other quarries and mines in the valley. A tramway ran alongside the track for the transportation of slate down to Blaenau and further beyond the valley down to Croesor and Porthmadog for transportation abroad. To the left, above the track are the remains of the quarrymen's barracks.
