Description

When Edward 1st arrived at deganwy, instead of rebuilding the destroyed castle at Deganwy, as had been done on previous occassions by both the Welsh and the English. Edward and his master castle builder James of St George decided to break with tradition and build a new castle at Conwy, which would allow resupply by sea. The new castle was in direct view from the old.
