A view looking north up the Taff Valley at Taffs Well. A former Great Western Railway 5600 class 0-6-2T locomotive is hauling a coal train on the former Taff Vale Railway down relief line towards Cardiff. Taffs Well station is in the centre of the view just above the road bridge, with the lines to Penrhos Junction and the Rhymney Valley diverging to the right. Centre left another pair of track diverge to the right from the main line, these provided access to Nantgarw Colliery.
