Evan S Rees sat on the right, other individual’s name unknown. Evan Samuel Rees joined the army at 19 and served in the Middle East during the First World War. Medal no.1669, PTE E. S. Rees with the R.A.M.C (Royal Army Medical Corps). He survived the WW1 and returned to live at home in the Swansea area.

Note on the back reads:
“P.S. my hat & stick on the chair…??...them myself….??
A days leave form our late camp. ???
Hate the curries?
Cup of tea & a bun please”
