This the first part of a letter sent from my Father Gunner William Henry George Evans Royal Artillery Malta to his then Fiancée Miss Gwyneth Olive Wilson. they had got engaged just before he left in 1940. In the letter he explains that he will not becoming home again for at least another 6 months( he eventually came home in 1945, 5 years abroad without ever returning to Britain) He has attached his Maltese Cross badge, he states he is sending his second most precious thing in the world to his first most precious!
