Description

Between 7–12 July, 1916 the 38th (Welsh) Division’s objective was to take Mametz Wood. Their objective was completed on the 12th of July with almost 4,000 men killed or wounded. It is possible that this postcard front design is a referral to the success at Mametz wood. Today there is Welsh dragon memorial statue on the site facing the woods.
