Alfred Jones's brother John Jones was married to Wil Ifan's aunt Elizabeth; they lived at 34 Broniestyn Terrace. The poet and Archdruid Wil Ifan (Rev. William Evans) had many other relatives living in Aberdare, including his maternal grandfather Rees Davies (1827-1916), who in the 1911 census was also living at 34 Broniestyn Terrace. Wil Ifan visited them often and his writings include many affectionate references to Aberdare.
