Ticket from London to Calais bought by Dr Eppynt Phillips during the First World War
Description
On 8 December 1914, Dr Mary Elizabeth Eppynt Phillips received a telegram requesting her assistance at a typhoid hospital in Calais. She went on to treat wounded soldiers across Europe during the First World War, including in Malta, Serbia and Corsica, as well as raising funds for the work of the Scottish Women's Hospital during the war.
