Letter detailing escape from Kragujevac, Serbia during the First World War
Description
This letter was sent to Dr Mary Eppynt Phillips by a colleague- Sister A. Linton - following their forced escape from the Serbian city of Kragujevac ahead of a German advance. Those fleeing were serving at the Scottish Women's Hospital in the city, as had Dr Phillips until shortly before the German advance, before she returned to Britain due to ill-health.
