Walter James Laming was born on 19 March 1885 in Ash, Kent and was a gunner with the Royal Garrison Artillery during the First World War after enlisting on 8 December 1915. After the war he was transferred to the reserve on demob and later, he became a dentist in Pontardawe. He died on 23 May 1939 in Cimla.
