The commemorative card notes that Pte. Walter Sheppard was with the 30th Machine Gun Company and was killed at the age of 33.
The card reads –
"IN LOVING MEMORY of Pte. Walter Shephard
(30th Machine Gun Company)
Dearly beloved son of Mrs. and the late Frank Sheppard, Caerphilly who died at Alexandria, Egypt, on February 28th, 1919 and was buried at Kantara Military Cemetery. Age 33 years.”
