Letter from Buckingham Palace from the King to John Edwards 1918

Description

This is a letter which was sent out to John Edwards from the King following Mr Edward's release from a prisoner of war camp, He was a sniper and was captured during WW1. John Edwards was born 06/07.1897 at Ty Capel (Chapel House) Rhiw Pwllglas Ruthin and wend to Llanfair D.C. School. He was a farm worker at Ffynnogion He enlisted in May 1915 at only 17 yrs of age. He trained at Liberland and was unable to join the Welsh Regiment due to his age so he went to Manchester and enlisted with the Manchester Reg 2nd/5th his Reg no was either 262043 or 303043
