Description

Walter Lewis Jenkins, third engineer, the son in law of James James, Dolmaes Silo, Penrhyn-coch (formerly Barry) and the wife of Elizabeth Ann Jenkins, lost his life at 32 years, on board the ship SS Tangistan, which was sunk by a German submarine in the North Sea on 9 March 1915. Commemorated at Tower Hill, London. The ship sank off Flamborough Head; 37 were drowned; 1 only saved - J. O’Toole.
