Vinegar Cake Recipe
Description
This recipe was made at the National Eisteddfod in 2012 as part of the 'Festival Flavours' campaign by People's Collection Wales and True Taste Wales.
Ingredients
6oz self-raising flour
3oz margarine
3oz sugar
1 tablespoon of vinegar
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
3-4oz dried fruit
Method
Sieve the flour. Beat the margarine and sugar. Pour the milk into a large bowl, add the vinegar and the baking soda; the mixture with rise and froth in the bowl.
Combine the flour and the vinegar liquid with the margarine and sugar and add the dried fruit.
Place in a greased and floured 7inch tin and bake in a moderate oven for an hour.
