Anglesey Constabulary
Description
A cap badge of the former Anglesey Constabulary. GVIR centre, representing the monarch of the period, King George VI (1937 - 1952).
Anglesey Constabulary was formed in 1857, to replace the existing parish constables.
In 1950, the Anglesey, Caernarfonshire and Merionethshire police forces were amalgamated under the Police Act 1946 to form the Gwynedd Constabulary.
