Margam from the Park, Illustrations of Glamorganshire, Charlotte Louise Traherne, 19th century, Pencil and ink wash on paper Charlotte Louisa Traherne was the sister of Christopher Rice Mansel Talbot, who inherited the Margam estate in 1824. An amateur artist, she drew and painted many views of the Margam estate, and presented them in a series of volumes called 'Illustrations of Glamorganshire.' This is a view of the Tudor Gothic mansion, Margam Castle, which was built by her brother in 1830-40, and still stands today. Bequeathed by Lady Mansel Franklen, 1938. NMW A 1183
