Abergele
Description
Aerial view of Abergele. An ancient Roman cattle trading and mining post. There are three hillforts in close proximity to the town, Castell Cawr atop the hill behind the town, Pen-y-Corddyn at Rhyd-y-Foel a couple of miles down the road and the now vanished Dinorben, which has been totally destroyed by quarrying activities, although much is known as it was subject to an archaeological dig many years ago when an Iron Age hoard of bronze horse bits and paraphenalia were found. Image taken 26 June 2005.
