Description

Canovium (alternate spelling with a 'K' instead of a 'C') Roman fort located on the banks of the River Conwy at Caerhun. Photo is of the information board at the site of St Mary;s Church, built within the boundaries of the fort. There are no ruins of the fort, but the parch marks in the grass are visible in a dry year and the outline of the ramparts can just be made out. Taken 24 September 2010.
