Textile
Description
Perhaps the most important find at Llangorse Crannog was a linen garment. Initially the fabric looked like a lump of mud. It took months and years to carefully unfold and clean the charred cloth. During the project, participants have gone back-stage at National Museum Cardiff and seen the fragments; conservators led by Louise Mumford have discussed the find and how it has been preserved. Participants have also worked with artist Penny Turnbull to explore the techniques used and contribute to a garment based on the Llangorse textile.
