This is the final design helmet and badge that was used by the Glamorgan Constabulary. Used throughout the 1960's, until 1969.

In 1969, the South Wales Constabulary was formed by the amalgamation of the Glamorgan Constabulary with former forces of Cardiff City Police, Swansea County Borough Police and Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Police.

This is the actual helmet that I was issued with in 1969, when I first joined the Glamorgan Constabulary. I was stationed in Barry, within the 'E' or Barry Dock Division.
