Description
The photograph of Christ College XV in the 1898-89 season includes three future internationals: "Hop" Maddock (wing, 6 caps, 6 tries), "Scethrog" Williams (forward, 4 caps) and "Teddy" Morgan (wing, 16 caps, 14 tries including the one which inflicted the only defeat on the 1905 New Zealanders). It also includes a future headmaster: John Leoline Phillips, who was in School House from 1892 to 1899, was Headmaster of Christ College from 1921-1931.
