Third page of poetry by Gwilym Evans for Competition Soar Seven Sisters October 28, 1916. Unfortunately only the third page that has survived.
Gwilym Davies was born on May 23, 1892 near Seven Sisters, Neath. He was a poet and his bardic name was Bugeilfab. He won a first prize for a sonnet in the National Eisteddfod. He served in the army during the First World War and recieved a Military Medal for his service. According to one newspaper, worked hard under extremely dangerous conditions to release some of his comrades, and his conduct is an inspiration to those around him.
