Description

Ellen Mary Hughes was born in Moeltryfan, in the old Caernarfonshire, in 1887. She moved to Liverpool as a domestic servant in 1906. Between 1904 and 1916 she collected picture postcards which record her family and social life. The essay discusses the contents of the postcards, which give an interesting insight to her life and to the age.
