SM 2007. 196 - ‘Spirit’ is a sculpture carved into a whale vertebra, part of its backbone, by Inuit artist Pauloosie Karpik in about 1970. Karpik was from the Community of Panguirtung, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
