RED CROSS WORKING PARTY
Working Party – Since 1st Jan, 4 flannel shirts, 2 helmets, 2 vests, 4 pairs of socks have been set to Lieut Col Trower for the Red Cross Committee and 6 pairs of mittens to Mr Marley Samson for the D.G.V.O. January 28th.
January 1916 letter
‘Dear Sir,
Soldiers of the 2nd Welsh Regiment.
With best wishes for Christmas and a bright New Year. Yours faithfully,
I am in receipt of the parcel containing clothes for which I am very thankful. Please convey my sincere thanks to the people of Pembrokeshire. It grieves me to think that I am unable to appreciate their kindness other than words.

John Bryant, Fisherman, Richard Jones, Fisherman and William Morgan, Fisherman all of Main St, Llangwm were fined 1s each for allowing their donkeys to stray on the highway.

FREDERICK BEVAN, ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY
Died June 24th 1916
Frederick’s mother Emma (nee Harries) had been widowed in 1906 when she was 30. She married her second husband Thomas Palmer in 1918. Frederick fought at Gallipoli and was part of the force defending the Suez Canal, He was killed when troops attempted to end the siege of Kut al Amara.
LOCAL SNIPPETS
Last week whilst driving some cattle at Knapp, one of the animals belonging to Mr Thomas, Butcher, fell over a cliff and had to be slaughtered. It then fell on Mr Thomas’s foot causing a painful injury. March 10th.
Mr Peter Robert Peters, Knapp farm writes stating that the cow which recently fell over a cliff on his farm was slaughtered by him and that he buried the carcass. March 31st
