Description

Since prehistoric times humans have admired the beauty of shells, their varied shapes and range of colours. We have collected them and used them as jewellery and currency and placed them in graves as a sign of respect and mourning. Shells are the hard parts of many animals belonging to the Phylum Mollusca. The shells can remain after the death of the animal and can be found all over the world on land or in the water.
