Hoisting Point, Laugharne Common walk
Description
Names of some of the hoisting places are: Beggar's Bush, Common Back, Feather Bed Lane, Kite Rock, Merry Moor, Moildin Bit, Oaten Cake and Cheese and Warrior's Lane.
Any person who, when asked, does not know the name of the location is hoisted upside down by the constables and "beaten". Originally this was a way of encouraging local youths to be knowledgeable about the lands owned by the Corporation.
