Description

Since 1922, the young people of Wales have sent out an annual message of peace and goodwill to the youth of the world. Irrespective of politics, borders or international tensions, it expresses a hope for a peaceful future and love for humanity across the globe.

The message was the idea of Gwilym Davies. He was heavily involved in a number of initiatives aimed at promoting international understanding in the years following the First World War. In 1922, the first ‘World Wireless Message by the Children of Wales’ included the line: “There will be no need for any of us, as we grow older, to show our pride for the country in which we were born by going out to hate and kill one another.”
