Ingredients

one gallon water
one pound raisins
two pounds sugar
the juice of three lemons

Method

Boil the water and leave it to cool.
Then add the raisins, the sugar and lemon juice and stir once daily for four days.
Strain through muslin and pour into bottles.
Cork securely at once.
Serve neat or diluted with hot water.
