Ingredients

young nettle leaves
water
sugar

Method

Wash the leaves thoroughly and add a quart of water for every pound of leaves.
Boil well for about one hour.
Strain and re-boil the liquid for half an hour, adding a pound of sugar for every pint.
Leave to cool before bottling.

This drink was taken as a tonic for purifying the blood.
