Ingredients

elderflowers
water
sugar
ginger


Method

Fill a large saucepan with elderflowers, cover with water and simmer for several hours.
Strain the liquid and re-boil for half an hour.
Add a little ground ginger and a pound of sugar for every pint of liquid.
Boil again until the liquid thickens.
Pour into bottles when cool.


Dilute with hot water and take as an antidote for the common cold.
