Foundation Stone for the Llanelli Boys and Girls Grammar Schools

Description

This stone is a replica of the foundation stone for the Llanelly Intermediate and Technical Schools, often referred to as County schools which subsequently became the Llanelli Boys and Girls Grammar Schools. The original schools were opened by Mrs Rowland Maclaran, one of the Lady Governors on September 21st 1897.
The opening ceremony was attended by Viscount Emlyn, Sir Lewis Morris, H.M Inspector of Schools, Mr Thomas Jones and Mr David Randall, M.P.
