Dre-fach Felindre Carnival: White Heart for D'Oliveira, 1968
Description
Surgeons Richard Jones, Goetre Uchaf, Tom Lewis Jones (Bom), Felindre View, Eifion Davies, Pen-sarn, and the patient Colin Evans. A white heart is given to Basil D'Oliveira, the English cricketer, because South Africa refused to let him play in South Africa due to the colour of his skin. This was timely as Christian Barnard from South Africa had transplanted a heart for the first time in December 1967.
