If children only had one new outfit a year it would be for Whitsun! This photograph shows some of the Community House contingent, together with other churches in the area. This annual procession of Sunday School children and church members took place to celebrate Pentecost. There would be hymn singing in front of the homes of the old or sick.
Later there would be sports (known locally as Whitsun Fields) and a tea party. A wonderful day!
