An excursion train from the Valleys to Barry Island crossing the causeway between Barry and Barry Island. The train is hauled by an ex Great Western Railway 5600 class 0-6-2T, a type which was designed for use in South Wales on both passenger and freight trains. The fourth carriage is worthy of note as one of the special low height suburban carriages originally built for use on the Burry Port and Gwendraeth Valley line, although these were later sometimes used on excursion traffic in the Cardiff and Newport Valleys.
