Dyffryn Farm Llangynwyd

Description

There is a ghost story linked with this farm in the Llynfi Valley. The story goes that a ghost appeared to a boy at the farm and incited the him to conduct all kinds of mischief; such as setting fire to ricks, turning the cattle out of the sheds, and like deeds. When the boy showed signs of disobedience the ghost would punish him, at one time throwing the boy over the house as punishment. The boy survived as he was caught by the branches of a tree. The boy is not believed to have suffered serious injury from the rough treatment of the ghost. The ghost would pelt at the windows with stones, to the danger of the houses inhabitants. The ghost was eventually banished by application of the dark arts.
