Evan Jones (1790 – 1860) was the owner of the last Jappaning manufactory in Usk. He was also an alderman of Usk and a brick, tile and pipe manufacturer. He carried on the tradition of Jappaning from the Allgood family who had worked in the industry since 1763 in Pontypool and Usk. There is a Blue Plaque (No 7528) which mentions Evan Jones, commemorating the works at New Market Street, Usk.
