Portrait of Rev. William Ambrose (Emrys), Nefys, Caernarvon, 1857.

Rev. William Ambrose (Emrys) was a minister and a poet who founded several churches and was a regular competitor and winner in the eisteddfodau. He was born in Bangor in 1813 and died in Porthmadoc, where he was minister of the independent chapel, in 1873.

This photograph was taken on 18 May 1857 and was mounted as a miniature.
