Description

Family portrait of John Jones, 'Miller of Mona', and his family, Rhosfawr, Anglesey . John Jones, his wife Martha and their daughter were referred to in the travel writings of George Borrow in his book 'Wild Wales', 1862.

Gilt had been used to highlight the woman and girl's jewellery. Colour has also been added to the couple's cheeks and the girl's hair.
