Description
Dr William Price conducting a ceremony. Dr William Price (1800-1893) was an eccentric physician born at Rudry, near Caerphilly. He led a colourful life and was known to wear a headdress made out of fox skin. He was a Chartist who followed druidic practices and believed in cremation. In 1884, he cremated his son's body in Llantrisant, much to the disgust of the community, and arranged his own cremation which drew a crowd of 20,000 people.
